Are you an adult or teenager with crooked or misaligned teeth, and the thought of getting traditional metal braces just isn’t acceptable?

You’re not alone.

While orthodontic treatment is a proven method for improving your smile and transforming your self-confidence in the process, metal braces have a certain social stigma associated with them, especially for adults.

Fortunately for you, our cosmetic dentist at Advanced Cosmetic & Family Dentistry in Alpharetta offers an advanced system for adults and teenagers in the Alpharetta area who are looking to straighten their teeth without traditional braces.

What is Invisalign?

The Invisalign orthodontic system involves using a series of clear, nearly invisible aligners to straighten your teeth gradually, typically over a period of 12-18 months.

Unlike traditional metal braces, Invisalign aligners are barely noticeable and can even be removed for important occasions such as weddings, class reunions, or even “prom night” for you teens out there.

Benefits of Invisalign

  • Discreet Appearance: Clear aligners mean no noticeable metal brackets or wires.
  • Comfortable Fit: Made from smooth, BPA-free plastic, the aligners are gentle on your mouth.
  • Removable & No Dietary Restrictions: Eat, drink, and brush your teeth without restrictions.
  • Customized Treatment: Aligners are tailored to your unique dental structure.
  • Efficient Results: Many patients see results in as little as 12-18 months.
  • Suitable for teens and adults

Who Can Benefit from Invisalign clear braces?

Invisalign can treat a variety of orthodontic problems like:

  • Crooked or crowded teeth
  • Gaps between teeth
  • Overbites, underbites, and crossbites

Whether you’re a teenager or an adult, Invisalign is a great choice for anyone seeking aconvenient, effective way to straighten crooked teeth.

Adults are great candidates for Invisalign clear braces!
Is Invisalign Better Than Braces?

What to expect during Invisalign treatment

As mentioned earlier, Dr. Brett Silverman is trained in providing the Invisalign system for both new and existing patients. While every case is unique, here is a brief, general overview of the Invisalign process:

  1. Initial Consultation: The first step is to see if you are a candidate for Invisalign. While Invisalign can fix a wide variety of issues, it may or may not be right for you. You can call our office today in/near Alpharetta or contact us here to schedule your initial Invisalign consultation.
  2. Custom Treatment Plan: If Invisalign is a viable treatment alternative, the process will begin by taking impressions of your teeth and sending them to the Invisalign lab in order to mold your first set of custom aligners, as well as the aligners you will use in the future (based on finely tuned calibration).
  3. Receive Your Aligners: You’ll ensure that your aligners fit properly and will continue to receive new aligners every two weeks. It’s important to note that you do not have to visit the dentist every two weeks during the process, but a visit every 6 weeks is recommended.
  4. Progress Checkups: We’ll see you every 6-8 weeks to monitor your progress and make adjustments as needed. Over the typical Invisalign treatment period of 6-18 months, your teeth will gradually straighten as the series of progressive aligners do their job.
  5. Reveal Your New Smile: At the end of your treatment, you’ll have beautiful teeth and be able to smile with self-confidence!
