Recently while at the Ice Forum in Kennesaw, Georgia, Dr. Silverman met Yvette Pegues and helped her receive an unforgettable gift of a lifetime- Below is an intro to the story along with Yvette's thank you letter written to Dr. Silverman!
Hello Brett and Coach Ed, Thank you SO much for the Dream come TRUE on ICE this weekend at the Ice Forum. It was an AMAZING 5 minutes that keeps on giving. I still can't stop smiling. I've been screaming it on the mountain tops and can't wait to meet back up at the Ice Cooler to try it again. Please let me know when I/we can experience the thrill of FREEDOM from the wheelchair again. Best Blessings, Yvette Pegues
Okay, so we left church on Sunday and made a mad dash to the "Ice Forum" in Kennesaw, GA, to attend a Birthday Party on Ice to celebrate with my child's classmate who was turning 8 years old. I was left under the circular parking area while Hubby fast-walked the boys into the party room where the festivities had already begun.
At the very moment my husband made his way out of the building and back to the passenger side of the car with my wheelchair, we were assaulted with EXCITEMENT and OPPORTUNITY by a kind stranger who we later found out was, "Brett!" He TOLD me that I should join him and some friends out on the ice and asked my (now concerned) husband, if he could roll me into the building while he parked the car. We consulted with each other (prayed quietly) and said, "Y.E.S" (Your Experience Shifts)!
Tears of JOY started to roll down my face when the doors swung open and I was rolled to the edge of the ice. By this time Hubby had hurried back and I was introduced to, "Coach Ed" who called 3-4 other men to assist.
