“Freddie Mercury’s teeth” is trending this month on Google for the term “teeth”…know why? While we aren’t exactly sure ourselves, we have a few guesses…
But first, if you don’t know, Freddie Mercury is the lead singer of the popular musical band, Queen. He passed away at age 45 on November 24, 1991.
Okay, now back to our guesses…
First guess:
People want to know why his smile looked that way! Here is a fact…Freddie Mercury had more teeth than your typical lead singer.
He surely had a distinctive smile with four extra teeth in the back of his mouth. This caused the teeth in the front of his mouth to push forward.
He never wanted his teeth fixed because he feared “it would affect his vocal ability.” (Source: https://www.loudersound.com/features/10-peculiar-facts-you-might-not-know-about-freddie-mercury)
Second guess:
People are searching for the perfect Halloween costume! Because of his unique smile, people may think it’s a great idea to replicate a set of fake teeth to resemble Mercury’s famous smile.
But they’ll never get a fake set of teeth as accurately depicted as Chris Lyons created for actor Rami Malek who played Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody (source: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.nytimes.com/2018/11/06/movies/bohemian-rhapsody-teeth-rami-malek-freddie-mercury.amp.html)!
Third guess:
Curiosity! People may just be curious as to why his teeth stuck out in the front; or whether or not Malek wore fake teeth in the movie.
Well, those are our guesses! Maybe you have your own guesses, too.
Regardless…Happy Halloween!
