As you age, crows feet, frown lines, and forehead creases are inevitable. For some, this issue can start to manifest in their 20s or early 30s and for others it comes later in life.
Either way, you need to know there are treatments available to help prevent facial wrinkles from becoming a fixed feature on your face; and one of the most common (and successful) treatments out there is Botox®.
Frequently Asked Questions
I’VE HEARD OF BOTOX, BUT WHAT IS IT?
Botox is a muscle relaxing agent made from onabotulinumtoxinA, which prevents the muscles from creating wrinkles in the face. Botox is designed to treat wrinkles caused when you move your facial muscles.
Botox can also provide therapeutic relief for TMJ pain, migraine headaches, and trigger point therapy for muscles.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Botox is a non-surgical injection that goes into the face. The protein that is injected helps to prevent wrinkles caused by muscles and is particularly useful on the upper half of the face. If the muscle does not contract, then the skin will not show the lines associated with crows feet, frown lines, and forehead wrinkles.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO SEE RESULTS?
While every patient is a unique case, most of our patients see results from Botox within 3-5 days with full results approximately 2 weeks after the procedure.
One of the best things about Botox is that it isn’t a “drastic” procedure. People will notice that you have fewer wrinkles, but it’s not an overwhelming change.
